The Garmin Forerunner 305 is a high performance Garmin running watch utilising both GPS and Heart Rate Monitor technology. The watch will enable you to accurately monitor your speed and distance as well as heart rate throughout your run.

In addition to the highly sensitive GPS sensor (giving improved signal around trees and buildings) the Forerunner 305 also includes a robust ANT wireless heart rate monitor. The ANT technology eliminates interference with other devices and uses a much softer and more comfortable chest strap with exceptional battery life.

The GPS antenna is designed so that while running it is pointing directly at the sky, providing more effective satellite communication. For duathlons and triathlons the 305 features multi-sport workouts, allowing seamless transition between running, cycling and more.  The course feature allows you to compete against your previous times stored on the watch to optimise training. This feature also allows the user to store data for analysis.

The data screens on the Forerunner 305 can be filled with 12 different data types and the view can be customised to display up to 4 fields but you can also have mutliple views available at the touch of a button. The recorded data can then be transferred to a computer. Garmin’s free Training Centre® software can be used to analyse your performance.

Detailed analysis, online mapping and route sharing are also available on Garmin’s web-based application, Motionbased.com, and on the online community Garmin Connect. Similarly trainingPeaks.com is a site designed for use with Garmin products to aid endurance training.
